The Rakista Dot Com

Rakista[dot]Com is a Social Site in the Philippines where people who love Rock music in any genre and Underground bands in any genre interact with each other.

Rakista[dot]Com was created by Harold Solomon A.K.A. RiDz with the help of a friend Malbin Hung on layout. I asked RiDz why he created the site and he said "To help the scene and unite pinoy rock music lovers". Which is absolutely true. He said "It started way back 2006 as a hobby with a simple forum site. Back then, I was working as a senior software engineer in Accenture". Cool indeed. The site was created for the music lovers to interact and also for the exsisting band to be expose and also for the people who want to create a band make their dreams come true. Well, I guess all of these are actually working. A lot of musician finally got their break and people dying to have a band finally get what they deserve. Some also find ways to advertise their Production/Gig on the site by posting their event in the Event Section. There are forums for gigs and some other social stuff. You also get a chance to meet new friends and even meet them in person at a certain gig such as "The Rakista Jam".

Rakista Jam is being held monthly and on each Jam it has different line up of bands. The difference between Rakista Jam from any other concerts is you get a chance to drink and get drunk with the band members and business opprtunities to some, especially if an individual is planning to produce a certain gig or promote a certain product such as beer, band gadgets, or even your personal business.

The Rakista Jam 33

The Black Kings' Bar

The latest Rakista Jam that I attended to was the Rakista Jam 33. It's the 33rd Rakista Jam that was held since Rakista[dot]Com was made. It was held at Black Kings' Bar located at West Life Bldg. West Avenue, Quezon City. The ticket was very affordable. Just Php150.00 per head with free 500ml bottle of Red Horse Beer which is my favorite beer since I was still in high school. You can also purchase an album for Php200.00 and you can get in for free. Well,I chose the Free beer of course.

EVEN

There are a lot of bands who performed that night. But I was not able to take a pictures of some of the bands because I was sometimes busy chatting and drinking my ice cold Red Horse Beer. One of the band who perform was EVEN. Even was the Muziklaban 2008 Champion.

TRIBO SUBCULTURE

Another band who performed that night was TRIBO SUBCULTURE. And yes, you're not blinded nor this picture is not edited, it is for real that the vox Cris is using crutches. This band really amaze me. The performance was outstanding. Their genre is a Metal - Tribalcore. As I check on their Facebook account:

"The band is consists of 8 man members and was formed mid 2002. Their music is called fusion combining two elements of music. They use metal music and combine with tribal music that form tribal core. Music that is heavy but yet has a touch of ethnic realm. This band uses indigenous instruments like djembe, tribal flute, chimes, and other indigenous instrument found mostly is South East Asia."

MR. BONES AND THE BONEYARD CIRCUS

Guys, meet Mr. Bones. The Band, Mr. Bones and the Boneyard Circus. And no wonder girls go crazy and wanting to watch this band. With a good looking vox like him? I'm not gonna argue with that, I definitely understand. I know how it feels like to be like him. Just kiddin'. This is my first time I watched this band performed. Actually I've heared about them before. A friend of mine sometimes call me "Mr. Bones", she said sometimes I look like Mr. Bones himself. Well,  don't have any comments with that, and I'm not going to argue with that as well. I love their music. Their genre is Horror Rock / Theatrical Macabre, Which is for me it is pretty much the same as Gothic Industrial which is one of my personal favorite genre. I'm into Gothic Culture by the way. But anyway, that's all I can say about this amazing band. Two thumbs up.

"Toshio"

This picture was taken Inside a Call Center Floor. The person who probably made this was very upset talking to the customer and the only way to vent it out is to draw a picture of Toshio (The Grudge Movie) and stick it into an open ceiling.

I didn't notice this when I entered the floor. Until when I felt upset as well to my customer so I raised up my head and I saw Toshio looking at me. Shocking but funny. Remember, I was upset to the customer but it all been swallowed up when I saw this.

Thanks to Toshio and thank you to the person who made this.

Our office moved to the 2nd floor. And guess what? I brought Toshio's head along with me. Planning to stick it into an open ceiling, but I'm not getting any chance in doing that, besides the ceiling is too high.

The Introduction

First of all, I'm not a blogger and I'm not a professional photographer. I created this account to tell a story about the pictures that I took. It's not because I'm not contented of posting these pictures on my Facebook account, but it's just pictures tell a lot of stories and I wanna tell you mine. As an overview, this will not be a serious or elite type of blog and this will not also be a mainstream type of blog. This blog will also not be that updated as how I update my Facebook account. So just bear with me if the stories run a little bit slow, but definitely all stories will come into an end.

I'm going to call this blog as "What I See Is What I Get" Because what I get is definitely what you're going to see.

Hope you're going to enjoy this. Feel free to post comments or any suggestions. Thank you and Blessed be.
